        Quality Control Problem
Reviewed on August 31, 2022 by sassysenior on naturesownbread
The last two loaves of this bread, instead of being soft and moist, has been dry and coarse. Actually the decline has been going on longer than that. Several loaves over the past couple of months have had a coarse circular interior, slightly darker than the exterior of the slices. We are saddened by this, since this has been our go to bread for a long time. 60 years ago, I worked in a laboratory for a well known flour maker. My guess is inferior wheat and/or poor attention to good ingredients. When we first started consuming this product, it was beyond reproach, everything bread should be. Unless the problem is remedied, we will be fining new sandwich bread.

        nice and soft, but...
Reviewed on June 30, 2022 by Wifey on naturesownbread
My husband loves the softness and flavor of the Butterbread for his lunch hour sandwiches. He also appreciates that it doesn't "stiffen up" and feel dry when he pulls them from his well-chilled lunch cooler. The reason I gave this 3 stars only is because i can only ever make 3 maybe 4 sandwiches from a whole loaf. Why? Because there are holes/tunnels that run the length of the loaf. Fillings and condiments either fall out immediately, or cause a weak spot in the sandwich making it fall apart while tries to eat it. I find this extremely annoying to have to open another loaf just to finish pack his lunch. I don't eat it myself, so there is much waste. This is a relatively new issue. It wasn't a problem back in the 90's when I first started buying this. What has happened?

        Disappointed in the quality lately.
Reviewed on July 8, 2022 by Sad on naturesownbread
I have bought this bread for years and loved it, but in the last six months or so have noticed a big difference in the quality. It is dryer, I find myself not using the first few slices and the size is way smaller. And the price is higher. Quality Control is not doing their job. I keep buying it, hoping it’s a fluke but losing faith…

Smaller loaf pieces, not as many slices?
Reviewed on December 3, 2022 by MaggieT. on naturesownbread
I’ve been purchasing this bread for the past two years for my mom. She recently pointed out that she’s only able to get a few sandwiches out of each loaf, ( not like in the past) and the slice sizes are so much smaller than just a few months ago.

The ONLY Sandwich Bread I Will Buy
Reviewed on January 15, 2022 by jenylynn1995 on naturesownbread
Nature's Own is the best bread out there! When I was diagnosed with IC, it became almost impossible to find products that do NOT use some form of corn in their products (high fructose corn syrup, corn syrup, etc.) The I discovered Nature's Own. They only use real sugar in their products and they are 100% safe for me to eat without being in pain later. It's soft for a long time and doesn't dry out like other brands. Absolutely amazing!

My favorite bread has changed for the worse!
Reviewed on February 16, 2023 by Sue1949 on naturesownbread
This use to be the only bread I bought, but the last several loaves I have noticed that the quality and size has gone down AND the price has increased. I always check the date when buying my bread and the freshness of this particular bread has always been great for up to and beyond 10 days. Now, the loaves have bought over the last 6 weeks have dried out quickly and are a fraction of the once luscious size sandwich bread. I will not be buying this again, I'll go back to one of the more dependable brands for quality and size. I could have understood the raising of price during this inflation, but raising the price and cutting size and quality - shame on you!!!!

        Dry Bread
Reviewed on March 12, 2023 by JL on naturesownbread
I have always bought Nature's Own Butterbread. The last few months I have been disappointed with the quality of the bread. It seams like it's baked to long. It dark brown and very dry. I will have to trash the last loaf I purchased it was so dry toasting didn't even help. I will be buying another brand for my family.

Reviewed on January 15, 2022 by KDailey on naturesownbread
I really like every Nature's Own bread I've tried but this is my favorite for all types of sandwiches and toast. It is always soft and flavorful and has good uniform slices. I use it for cucumber tea sandwiches, grilled sandwiches, deli meat sandwiches, nut butter sandwiches, morning toast, and even homemade croutons. This bread never goes to waste when I buy it!

I made a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for my grandmother with this bread. I usually tear off the crust on all of her sandwiches but for some reason I forgot to do so this one particular time. Must to my surprise she ate the entire sandwich...crust & all & She liked it. From that day on she will only eat Natures Own bread with the crust on !

Not the usual Nature's Own Butter Bread
Reviewed on January 14, 2022 by Debbie on naturesownbread
I always buy Nature's Own Butter Bread, but something was off with this batch. It had a strange sour-like smell when toasted. The taste was a little off also. The next loaf I purchased was Nature's Own whitewheat just to make sure I didn't get the same batch again. I did throw out most of that butter bread loaf

When I was pregnant in 2019, I suddenly started craving bread. My husband was shocked because I don't like bread. I don't buy it, he buys sometimes for himself, so he started buying different brands but I didn't want any. Eventually he brought this one home, I loved it, it was so soft. Well to cut the long story short, I still eat it till now and that baby eats it too.

        Why is it getting smaller?
Reviewed on May 14, 2022 on naturesownbread
I've been eating Butterbread for years, and I've just noticed over the last few months that the loaves are getting shorter than other types of Nature's Own bread. No, I'm not squashing them; they are now shorter top to bottom than a standard slice of American cheese.

I love this bread, especially for making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. My father in law likes it for breakfast. He lives with us and every morning I have to make him scrambled eggs, three pieces of bacon, and THREE slices of Natures Own Butterbread White, toasted with lots of butter. He is 89, so he can have anything he wants at this stage.
